This is a work of fiction philosophy set in the modern world. This tale of Nikhil takes the reader into a more contemporary situation and incidences faced by modern generation and the possible solutions backed by philosophical jargons to overcome difficulty in life. Not only this book is insightful but very much soulful as well. The beautiful words of Krishna is capable of washing away all the conflicts of mind, better preparing it to be more calm and introspective. The mystical views are clear, profound and crisp, written in equally clear manner. Although the lessons are focused more on Nikhil's life they carry the same sense around all other human being. The book has small chapters and each chapter deals with a particular area subconscious human emotions. No doubt it's an wonderful book but it could have done better with more insightful lessons than simply some chapters narrating tiniest bits of details.

The book sage is fiction yet self-help book, that makes one question many things in life. The story is about Nikhil who is a doctor who shifted to New York. Nikhil has a special friend named Krishna who he met under very unexpected circumstances. One time of defying his parents landed him with very good company. Krishna's character is very well penned and the chapter which has him saying is really good. His talks are almost spiritual.
The language of the book is lucid and some of the chapters are really captivating. Overall, I enjoyed the book

Self realisation is one of the most important and desirable thing for a great life. But how many of us get it or even if we get it then if it is on time or too late to explore within ourself. The story here in the book "The Sage " by author Rishi Sethi, is such a book about self realisation and exploration. The main protagonist of this story is Nikhil who is a doctor working outside of India. He seems to travel alone to his mother land and in between he gets the memories of his childhood friend Krishna who has always given him deep understanding of the life advices and its existence since his childhood. The journey back to India gives him a understanding of self love, self realisation and Spirituality. Keeping faith in oneself is also important as per the book. So what all Nikhil gets to know and how is his journey back to his country going to flourish his goals. Will he be able to meet his childhood friend Krishna? What this journey will prove in a philosophical and spiritual way? There is a lot more in the book to make you think and learn anew. The cover of the book is not impressive but yes the title and story is much more effective. Language used by the author is simple and the way author has made his point using some motivating lines is quite impressive. The book is unputdownable and will keep you engaged. Being a short read you get more inspirations to get it in your hand. Characters are brilliant and the thought process is alligned with the philosophy of life. Overall a great read for everyone.

The Sage by Rishi Sethi (by the way ingenious title) is a story about self discovery and self realisation.
There are many books written in the genre of self help but The Sage with its philosophical stories will lead you on a spiritual journey of faith and love. Love for yourself mainly. It answers the unanswered questions of our doubtful minds with its unique stories.
Nikhil is a confused person, stumbling through life after he was orphaned when he was in his twenties. He is a cardiologist working in the United States of America and decides to visit India and his old friends to look for some answers.
Krishna, a man who Nikhil met accidentally as a child and they became best of friends, imparted lessons about life which still impact and guide Nikhil in his current life. The stories were wholesome and heartwarming.
The narration of the story was neither fast paced nor medium paced. Exactly like an engaging story lesson.
The character arc of Nikhil and his transition is inspiring and him as a protagonist was relatable.
“A man grows up when he learns to live peacefully with some deep pain in his heart that he can never resolve.”
